Starting the New Year can be an exciting, yet intimidating time. It’s exciting because you get a “new start” which may have you feeling pumped and motivated. It can be intimidating because in all reality, we are recovering from the holidays, and that’s not always easy. Taking time off to rest or spending time with loved ones can be hard to bounce back from. I bet most are super pressed to get back to the grind of our 8 hour work days and/or school. Not.
It is important to get acclimated with the refresh of a new calendar year. Time doesn’t stop ticking, however, taking things day by day, slowly but surely, and setting realistic goals that are healthy for your lifestyle is the best way to start off on the right track. Going hard in the beginning, and falling off of your consistency is not the key.
Here 25 things to consider in your new year to create a healthy life :
start with a goals list or vision board - break things up into short term vs long term
write important thoughts and feelings in a journal, phone notes, or daily calendar
keep a catch all place for your reminders and things to remember for daily use
start looking at your schedule in advance - allow for flexibility, self care, and travel
track finances week to week, but at minimum month to month for good spending habits
reflect on goals, feelings, growth, and finances frequently
push through adversity with good character and a learning mindset to grow
be understanding of things in your control and be easy on yourself through setbacks
maintain important relationships by checking in regularly - esp. during hard times for others
work on stepping out of your comfort zone and expanding your daily contacts and network
have mental check-ins with yourself, family, friends, people you care about, and others
work on expanding your knowledge in a variety of topics to become more versatile
keep your body moving even if you aren’t “working out” - do it for your life and health
start working on consistently consuming better foods for your body with a balanced diet
genuinely work on your shortfalls to be a better version of yourself for yourself
do you, but don’t let it affect others in a negative way - stay mindful
keep your space organized, cleaned, and refreshed frequently for a mental reset
work on allowing your skin to stay refreshed, moisturized, and spf protected
be more mindful about your hygiene, vitamins, and other good health habits
spend less time on things/people that drain your energy or don’t make you feel at your best
keep up with digital and physical files - find out what works for you and keep a system
stop comparing yourself to others - we all live through different timelines and circumstances
unless it is personally elevating your growth, log off of social media and online more often
embrace independence, but utilize resources and ask for help for better outcomes
take time to fuel personal passions and dreams - shoot your shot or you don’t score at all
